The 360Converter Offline Transcriber is designed to run entirely on your local machine, which makes it well suited to air-gapped (no-internet) environments common in government, legal, and medical settings. This guide explains how to install the application, load language models, and activate your license on a computer that has never been — and will never be — connected to the internet.
The Offline Transcriber performs all transcription locally. Once installed and activated, it requires no internet connection at any point during use.
What You Will Need
Before starting, prepare the following on an internet-connected computer, then transfer them to the air-gapped machine using a USB drive or your organization's approved transfer method:
- The Offline Transcriber installer
- The separate model package (ZIP) and setup script for your language(s)
- Your license key
Step 1: Download the Installer
On an internet-connected computer, go to 360converter.com and download the Offline Transcriber installer for your operating system (Windows or macOS).
Copy the installer to a USB drive (or your approved transfer medium) and move it to the air-gapped computer.
Run the installer on the air-gapped computer and complete the installation as normal.
Step 2: Install Language Models Offline
Normally the application downloads language models on first launch. On an air-gapped machine this download cannot happen, so we provide the models as a separate package that you install manually.
Do not launch the Offline Transcriber and let it attempt a model download on the air-gapped machine. Install the model package first using the steps below.
Contact 360Converter support and request the offline model package for the language(s) you need. We will provide a model ZIP file together with a setup script.
Transfer the model ZIP and setup script to the air-gapped computer alongside the installer.
Double-click the setup script. It will unpack the models and place them in the correct location automatically — no manual file copying required.
Once the script finishes, the models are ready. The application will detect them on launch and will not attempt any download.
Need additional languages later? Request the corresponding model package and run its setup script the same way. You can install as many language packages as you need.
Step 3: Activate Your License
The Offline Transcriber uses a life-long license — a one-time activation with no subscription and no recurring online checks.
Launch the Offline Transcriber on the air-gapped computer.
Enter the license key provided by 360Converter when prompted.
Once activated, the license remains valid permanently on that machine. No further internet connection is required.
Because the license is life-long and validated locally, there is no expiry, no renewal, and no need to re-connect the machine to the internet for ongoing use.
You're Ready
With the installer, models, and license all in place, the Offline Transcriber is fully operational on your air-gapped computer. All audio and video stay on your machine, and nothing is transmitted to any external server at any stage.
